Magix!
Enter the world of collectable, magic marbles.

Magix! is a brand of collectable marbles revamping an antique toy in a new and unique way for both kids and adults alike. The challenge for Magix!’s branding was to make marble collecting fascinating in a whole new way. I did this by combining this classic toy with a magical theme, a choice that shaped its world and brand story.
The five elements of Magix! in their respective packaging.
Learn a bit more about the world of Magix! from the brand story on our packages:
”Magix! is a world that contains powerful spells and spell casters, called Magix Users! Each of these sorcerers commit themselves to practicing one of five Elements from the Mystic Arts: Flora, Flame, Frost, Prism, or Void. To become stronger, these Magix Users search the lands to collect Gems, orbs with powerful spells encased within them. Become a Magix User today by starting your quest to collect these shimmering Gems!
So sorcerer, which element calls to you?”
With this brand story, you can start to see the world of Magix! coming alive. Collectors, or ‘Magix Users’, can dedicate themselves to collecting one of five distinct elements, groups of marbles belonging to a specific color. Naming these marbles as ‘Gems’ furthers the theming of the brand, defining them as encased spells, rather than the antique toy that we are used to. Lastly, having these five elements allows customers to pick one — or multiple — to represent themselves and take pride in, adding factions to the eventual community of Magix!.
A stack of the five different Magix! packages. From top to bottom: Prism, Void, Frost, Flora, and Flame.
To further the uniqueness of the Magix! brand, a one-of-a-kind, geometrical package was chosen to function as a gemstone box, housing 5 marbles, or ‘Gems’, inside. This package includes an important product window to display each set of Gems, angular sides, a pull tab, and a back side which shares our brand story and more about each element.
These element descriptions take on the same basic structure. For an example, here is the element description for Void, our dark element:
“Void is a Magix Element that represents the darkness of the world. From simple poison to black holes, Void encompasses all of the dark spells throughout Magix history. Each Void Gem represents the wishes of those in magic society to encase these spells for good, ridding them from the land. These Gems are colored in deep purples and bleak blacks, displaying their dangers from a distance.”

Each element has a distinct color, making them stand out from one another, along with an element symbol. Lastly, Bajern was used and modified as Magix!’s main typeface — a blackletter font that calls back to its magic theming.
